The soul and free will (25-10-2016)

(This is probably one of the first interventions of Ephemeroptera)

@a_v2016 :

"[...] Indeed, in free consciousness one has the faculty, the predisposition, but one does not have it at one's disposal as "an already configured whole", as if one had an apple. It has to be built, perfected. And our free will, which is the result of it, is built and perfected accordingly.

And for this we must be, or better still, be born, in a suitable setting. We can see that it is delimited within a framework perceived as an evolving space-time between an entry point materialized by birth and up to a breaking point materialized by death. Here too you will admit that I am not pulling anything out of my pocket. It is an observation of our journey through life. [...]"

Signposts:

Growth of entropy in the Universe = direction of the arrow of time = physical dimension of time.

Perception of the flow of time = accumulation of information = negentropy = psychological time - illusion.

I-subject = memorized history-accumulations of memory traces = construction of identity ≠ free will.

I subject = subjective illusion.

Brief considerations on time, the soul and free will:

"(...) one must be born in a suitable setting. We can see that it is delimited within a framework perceived as an evolving space-time between an entry point (...)"

The cause-effect dichotomy is a decoy, a factor of confusion that limits the scope of your thinking.

In reality, the distinction is only an illusion of the mind.

"Time" does not "build", but "reveals" what "is".

See the example of limit sets, also called "strange attractors", which are characteristic of the non-linear dynamical systems called "stochastic".

A trivial but heuristic illustration will allow you to grasp this concept quickly:

Take a sheet of paper, something to write with and a coin. Invent two immutable rules which you will apply according to the result of your coin tosses. For example: "move 3 cm to the north-west" for heads, and: "reduce the distance to the centre by ¼" for tails. You start from an initial point and apply the rules at each new iteration starting from the last point obtained.

What do you get? A diffuse, shapeless cloud of points that seems to be randomly distributed. Then continue with the iterations. After several hundred tosses you will observe that the experiment no longer produces a disordered set of points, but that a shape seems gradually to emerge.

After thousands of tosses, the shape becomes precise enough to reveal a circumscribed space in which all the points are surprisingly located (= limit set).

After millions of iterations, no point overlaps another; all are concentrated within a singular perimeter whose shape is determined solely by the TWO starting RULES. The rules ARE the shape. Cause and effect are one. Psychological time (≠ physical time) is an illusion. The limit set is "already" there without yet being there.

You will have understood that each iteration represents the "flow of time". All the points seem to follow a mysterious trajectory (your will) which directs them towards this singular shape, which is "already" there without being there and whose configuration bears witness to the -free- choice "already" made. Notice how words are insufficient to translate these facts intelligently.

This playful illustration is well known to mathematicians. It will give you a new view of the letter "D 41-15". You will more easily understand the distinction between "CONCIENCIA" and "CONSCIENCIA" (conscience and consciousness) and why it concludes by saying that both are: "finally and ultimately the same thing".

Respectful greetings.
